Scenting Your Christmas Party

A beautifully planned party will be a treat to guests’ all five senses. So, whether you are hosting a black tie soiree or a more intimate dinner party, this simple way to scent the air is the perfect way to add to the ambience of your Christmas party.

No doubt, everyone will ask you what it is that smells so lovely, so think ahead and say your farewells at the end of the evening by giving guests a favour full of their own festive potpourri to take home.

Ingredients
1-2 large apple, cut into fourths
1-2 large oranges, cut into fourths
5 cinnamon sticks
1-2 teaspoons whole cloves
1 tablespoon fresh ginger

Directions
Fill a crock-pot or a pot on your stove with water. Combine all ingredients in the pot with the water. Turn on high heat for approximately 20 minutes and then reduce to a low simmer. Add water periodically to ensure the mixture does not dry out.

Fill clear cellophane bags with oranges, apples, cinnamon stick, ginger, and cloves along with a note from you detailing instructions on how to scent a home using these ingredients.  Label the bag with your guests’ names and hand out at the end of your Christmas party as the perfect festive party favour!

If you are planning an outdoor wedding you don't necessarily have to head to the sunny Italy, albeit you might have to put up with the notorious London rain. Kseniia&Marco have chosen this hidden gem of a venue, Pergola Gardens,  to provide a stunning backdrop for their relaxed August wedding. If you'd like to see a little more please have a look at this MY PORTFOLIO gallery.

All my best wishes for this lovely couple! xo

A Family Session... and then for your own family! Hardest thing EVER! It was a beautiful day in Oxford (my daughter is obsessed with Pullman's 'His Dark Materials' trilogy and especially fond of the main leading girl Lyra - hence the Oxford trip) and I am NEVER in the photos since I always take them. So glad we tried this time! Happy times! xo
